For week 1, read the Lecture 1 slide show for a summary of the topics. The readings below are full Basics pages on each topic. These go into detail and will be studied again later in upcoming weeks.
As you read the Basics pages linked below, keep in mind that this first week is an introduction and overview. You are not expected to read and learn everything in these Basics pages for this first week.
Your guides to the level of detail you should learn as you are introduced to these topics this first week of your geology class are:
- pre-quiz questions that you have available to study, and are sharing information about in the Quiz Question Discussion
- the Lecture 1 slide show
- the lectures given in person by your instructor
- the Week 1 learning activities that you work on in person together with the rest of the class
